Eagles Top Flyers in Georgia
Sandhills Community College outscored Oxford College of Emory University 48–35 in the second half but could not overcome a 57–40 halftime deficit, falling 92–88 on the road Friday afternoon.
Oxford built its early advantage behind efficient shooting in the first half, finishing the game at 54.2% from the field and 56.5% from three-point range (13-of-23). Sandhills shot 37.8% overall and 34.5% from beyond the arc, while going 16-of-27 (59.3%) from the free-throw line.
Zack Noel led the Flyers with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting and added 10 rebounds for a double-double. Mylon Campbell followed with 17 points, knocking down two three-pointers, while Isaiah Upchurch finished with 11 points. Titus Cunningham also reached double figures with 11 points off the bench, including three made three-pointers.
Sandhills won the rebounding battle 43–37 and forced 15 Oxford turnovers, helping fuel the second-half rally. The Flyers also recorded 19 assists and eight steals in the contest.
Oxford was led by Ved Desai, who scored a game-high 38 points, and Leo Etah, who added 25 points off the bench.
Sandhills will return home on Friday, January 30th, for a 7 p.m. matchup against Tidewater Community College, followed by a Saturday home game against Camp Community College at 3 p.m.
