Shianne Bennett Joins SCC Beach Volleyball
Sandhills Community College Beach Volleyball is excited to announce the signing of Shianne Bennett, a defender from Lee County High School, to the Flyer family.
At 5'4", Bennett brings a strong defensive mindset and a willingness to grow as she begins her first season in beach volleyball. She has five years of indoor experience and developed her game through travel play with Real Sports.
At Lee County, Bennett also lettered in varsity basketball and stayed active in several academic and service organizations, including BETA Club, National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Bennett chose Sandhills after being impressed with the program and building a connection with the coaching staff, noting that she is excited to take on the challenge of transitioning from court to beach volleyball and beginning a new chapter as a Flyer. She plans to pursue a degree in general education, with an interest in transitioning into radiology, and is looking forward to continuing the sport she loves while building new friendships.
Flyers Head Coach Alicia Riggan is excited about the addition, sharing, "We're thrilled to add Shianne to our Flyers Beach program. She brings a defender's mindset, an excitement for the game and learning new things, and a love for her teammates that stands out."
