No. 3 Flyers Sweep Guilford Tech on the Road
The Sandhills Community College volleyball team, ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, continued its strong start to the season with a dominant 3–0 sweep over Guilford Technical Community College on Monday night. The Flyers rolled to set scores of 25–9, 25–4, and 25–12.
Freshman outside hitter Brooke Emore powered the offense with 12 kills on an impressive .647 hitting percentage while also adding four service aces and 13 digs for a match-high 16 points. Olivia Bowman chipped in five kills (.400), and outside hitter Taylor Miller was efficient with four kills on just six swings (.500).
Setter Averi Cuddeback steered the Flyers' balanced attack with 14 assists, two aces, and five digs. Reagan Malpass and Megan Robinson contributed on the service line, combining for three of Sandhills' 13 aces in the match.
As a team, the Flyers hit .284 while limiting the Titans to only 25 total points across three sets.
With the victory, Sandhills improved to 19–1 on the season and will now turn its attention to a big home match on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. in The Hangar against Davidson-Davie Community College. The contest will also serve as Faculty and Staff Night, with special recognition planned for members of the Sandhills Community College community.
