The Sandhills Community College Flyers kept their momentum rolling Wednesday night, sweeping Davidson-Davie Community College 3–0 (25–19, 25–19, 25–20) in The Hangar. With the win, the Flyers improved their record to 20-1 and continued to showcase their depth across the roster.
Brooke Emore led the way offensively with 14 kills and 7 digs, while Katelyn Bunting was dominant at the net with 6 kills, 4 blocks, and 3 aces, hitting .500 on the evening. Nevaeh Ross also delivered one of her best matches of the season, finishing with 6 kills on a .500 hitting percentage along with 3 block assists.
On the defensive side, Olivia Rosy anchored the back row with 19 digs, while setters Reagan Malpass and Averi Cuddeback combined for 30 assists and 15 digs. Malpass added 3 kills and 2 aces, and Giannie Small chipped in 4 service aces as the Flyers' serving pressure helped tilt the match in their favor.
In total, Sandhills finished with 39 kills, 11 service aces, and 12 total blocks. The Flyers also racked up 66 digs in three sets, keeping rallies alive and frustrating the Storm's attack.
With the win, Sandhills now turns its focus to a busy weekend. The Flyers travel to Lenoir Community College on Friday before returning home Saturday to host a tri-match featuring Patrick & Henry Community College and USC Lancaster. Sandhills will face Patrick & Henry at 11 a.m. and USC Lancaster at 3 p.m., with the two visiting teams squaring off in the middle match. Saturday's gameday is presented by The Walking Apron, who will provide sponsorship and giveaways throughout the day.
